    Aim  :

For the given component, check for the geometrical errors and mesh with the given element Quality criteria. Use tetra elements to model the component and there should not and kinks and dips on the surface of the component.

Write a detailed report on your meshing process.

    Solution :

Following is the component we need to work upon :

After using topo command we have connected the cons as shown below :

Now we will work on the mesh quality as shown below :

We are setting the hot points length as 1 mm below :

Now we will apply the shell mesh parameters as shown below :

Now we will create the shell using ortho trias at the curved parts as shown below :

Now we will mesh the other areas as shown below :

Now we will divide it into 4 sub parts as shown below :

Using reconstruction and combination of trias and ortho trias we have removed the failed elements as shown below :

Now we will give convert this into solid mesh as shown below for the sub part :

Now we will do the same for the below sub part :

Now we have created it :

Now we will create the mesh for the below part as shown below :

Now using ortho trias we get the following :

Now we will convert this into solid mesh as shown below :

Now we have the last part as shown below :

We defeature it as it has many small fillets :

Now we have created the shell mesh and we will convert it into solid mesh as shown below :

Hence we have completed the meshing of the whole component as shown below :
