Usage of Collaborate tool in REVIT

    1.Aim:

    To set project base point and project shared coordinates for the project in an architectural template.

    Procedure:

    • Open Revit software and click new from models and select architectural template.
    • Select Grids from Architecture tab
    • Draw a vertical and horizontal grid on the workspace and name it 1 and A as follow.
    • Go to manage tab and select coordinates and specified coordinates at a point and select the coordinate point.
    • In specify shared coordinates dialog box enter 0’ and click ok.
    • Enter VG and expand site and check select the project base point check box and click ok.
    • Project base point appears, now click the point and enter 0’
    • Results:
    • The result is obtained by the above steps.

    1. Aim:

    • Go to file and create new project under structural template.
    • Select Grids from Structure tab
    • Draw a vertical and horizontal grid on the workspace and name it 1 and A as follow.
    • Go to manage tab and select coordinates and specified coordinates at a point and select the coordinate point. In specify shared coordinates dialog box enter 0’ and click ok.
    • Enter VG and expand site and check select the project base point check box and click ok.
    • Project base point appears, now click the point and enter 0’
    • Results:
    • The result is obtained by the above steps.

    3.Aim:

    To make the architectural model a central model by reopening it.

    Procedure:

    • Go to file and click open and choose the name which is saved for the architectural file and click open.
    • Go to collaborate tab and select collaborate and which will display a dialog box, give setting as follow and click ok.
    • Click save make it as central model.
    • Results:
    • The result is obtained by the above steps.

    4.Aim:

    To Create the Grids Longitudinal and Transverse pattern.

    Procedure:

    • In architectural file select grids under architecture tab.
    • Then modify| Place grid tab opens. Select pick line and give offset distance as 15’
    • Provide the longitudinal grids by picking the line one by one.
    • Follow the same for transverse grid. And rename it
    • Results:
    • The result is obtained by the above steps.
    1. Aim:

    To Synchronize the changes from the local copy to the central file of the architectural model.

    Procedure:

    • In the architectural file, go to collaborate tab.
    • Select synchronize with central and click synchronize and modify setting and give the setting as follow and click ok.
    • Results:
    • Hence the result is obtained.

    6.Aim:

    To open the structural model and use the collaborate tools to save the model as a central file.

    Procedure:

    • Open the structural file
    • Go to collaborate tab and select collaborate and which will display a dialog box, give setting as follow and click ok.

     

    • Click save to make it central model
    • Results:
    • Hence the result is obtained.

    7.Aim:

     To copy the grids to the structural model from the architectural model using Copy Monitor tool.

    Procedure:

    • Open the structural model
    • Select Insert tab and click link Revit
    • Select Architectural model from the list and import it.
    • Go to collaborate and select copy/ monitor and choose select the link option
    • Select the link and click copy and multiple
    • Select the grids as a whole
    • Click finish
    • Results:
    • The result is obtained by the above steps.
    1. Aim:

    To create another new file with a construction template as a central model and lick the architectural and structural model.

    Procedure:

    • Open a new file under construction template.
    • Go to file as save as Project2_central model
    • Go to collaborate tab and select collaborate and click ok
    • Go to insert tab and select link Revit
    • Import the Architectural template first and then structural template
    • Results:
    • The result is obtained by the above steps.

    9) Are the grids from structural and architectural model matching in the construction template created? If yes, the model is set up for project 2. If not work on the shared parameters and linking options under Manage links.

    Yes, the grids are matching from structural and architectural model matching in the construction template created.

     

     

    1. List a flow chart of a project tree set up in terms of Construction model, Architecture & Structure model, in this exercise and understand how many people can work on the same project using Revit simultaneously.

    Construction model:

    Work-sharing

    By work-sharing multiple users can work on different parts of one Revit project. Work-sharing allows simultaneous access to a shared model through use of a central model which will help multiple team members to work on it.

    • Plumbing engineers and so on
