Aim:  To Provide details of longitudinal reinforcement for the two columns, from foundation to terrace level.

    Procedure :

Step 1 : Using the same etabs structure in the last challenge , open the structure in elevation mode.

Step 2 : click on start design/check option in the( design drop down -> concrete frame design )

Step 3 : after the check is complete , go to design -> concrete frame design -> beam design info

and give in output longitudinal reinforcement and shear reinforcement

    longitudinal reinforcement :

    Shear Reinforcement :

    COLUMN 3A:

    Max Ast = 7027 mm2

so provide 9 no of bars of dia 30mm. = 6358mm2

    2 bars of 20 mm =628 mm2

    provide 10mm stirrups with 150 mm for zone c ;

since width is greater than 300mm provide confining reinforcement in both directions

      COLUMN 3B:

    MAx Ast = 5046mm2

so provide 6 no of bars of dia 32 mm = 4823.04mm2

    2 bars of 12 mm = 226.08mm2

also provide 10mm stirrips at 150mm c/c at zone c.

    summary:

     RESULT :

The model was analysed and the detailing of rebar was done in autocad.
