  • CREATE AN ANYLYTICAL MODEL OF STRUCTURE.
  • INPUT PROPERTIES OF THE STRUCTURE.
  • INPUT SPECIFICATION.
  • INPUT THE SUPPORTS.
  • INPUT LOAD AND LOAD COMBINATIONS.
  • INPUT DESIGN STANDARD.
  • RUN ANALYSIS.
  • VERIFY THE RESULT.
  • DESIGN OF RCC.

FIXED SUPPORT CONDITION:-

  • THERE IS NO SETTLEMENT VALUE INPUT IN IT.
  • WHEN THE FIXED TYPE OF SUPPORT IS SPECIFIED,FOR THOSE DEGREES OF FREEDOM WHICH ARE TO BE TREATED AS FULLY RESTRAINED,STAAD ASSUMES THE DISPLACEMENTS TO BE KNOWN QUALITIES WHOSE VALUE IS ZERO.

ENFORCED SUPPORT

  • THERE IS SETTLEMENT VALUE INPUT IN IT.
  • WHEN THE ENFORCED TYPE OF SUPPORT IS SPECIFIED,FOR THOSE DEGREE OF FREEDOM WHICH ARE TO BE TREATED AS RESTRAINED,STAAD ASSIGNS A SPRING WITH A VERY HIGH SPRING STIFFNESS – TRANSLATIONAL STIFF SPRINGS FOR TRANSLATIONAL RESTRAINS,AND ROTATIONALSTIFF SPRINGS FOR ROTATIONAL RESTRAINS.

  • AFTER COMPLETION OF ALL GEOMETRY,PROPERTIES,SPECIFICATIONS,SUPPORTS,LOADINGS THEN WE WILL USE THE ANALYSIS.
  • GO TO THE ANALYSIS
  • RUN THE ANALYSIS USING THE RUN ANALYSIS OPTION IN THE ANALYSIS TAB.
  • AFTER THAT IF ANY ERRORS OR WARINGS ARE COME RESOLVE IT AND COMPLETE ANALYSIS.

3.2

NODE BY NODE METHOD

  • THE FIRST WAY TO MODEL A BUILDING BY ADOPTING NODE BY NODE METHOD.
  • IN THIS METHOD WE ASSIGN THE NODES AS PER THE RACHITECTURAL DRAWINGS THAT ARE PLACED MANUALLY BY PLACING THE COORDINATES.
  • WE CAN ASSIGN THE NODES BY USING THE GEOMETRY PANEL.
  • THESE NODES CAN BE TRANSITIONALLY REPEAT BASED ON THE BUILDING DIMENSIONS AND LEVELS

STRUCTURE WIZARD

  • THE SECOND METHOD IS STRUCTURE WIZARD METHOD TO MODEL A BUILDING.
  • THIS METHOD IS AN AUTOMATED METHOD AS COMPARED TO NODE BY NODE METHOD.
  • WE CREATE TRUSS AND OTHER STRUCTURESJUST BY USING THIS METHOD.

3.3

  • FIXED:- THE DEGREES OF FREEDOM ARE FULLY RESTRAINED.
  • FIXED BUT:- THE DEGREES OF FREEDOM ARE NOT FULLY RESTRAINED. ONE OF THE DEGREES OF FREEDOM IS ASSIGNED AS A SPRING.
  • PINNED:- Fx,Fy,Fz ARE RESTRAINED AGAINST TRANSLATION BUT CAN ROTATE FREELY Mx , My AND Mz.
  • ENFORCED:- THE DEGREES OF FREEDOM ARE FULLY RESTRAINED BUT SUPPORT DISPLACEMENT IS ALSO ASSIGNED.
  • ENFORCED BUT:- USER CAN SELECT WHICH DEGREE OF FREEDOM WANTS RESTRAIN AND HOW MUCH SUPPORT DISPLACEMENT IS ASSIGNED.

3.4

  • AFTER COMPLTETION OF CREATING STAIRS USING GEOMETRY,PROPETIES,SPECIFICATION,SUPPORTS,LOADINGS.
  • RUN THE ANALYSIS USING THE ANALYSIS TAB.
  • AFTER THAT WE CAN SEE THE GO TO POST PROCESSING MODE.
  • BY SELECTING THAT AND CLICK DONE GOES TO THE POST PROCESSING MODE.
  • CLICK ON THE PLATE RESULT OPTION.
  • AFTER THAT WE CAN DROP DOWN THE PLATE RESULT WE CAN SEE THE OPTION CALLED MAX ABSOLUTE STRESS BY CLICKING THAT WE CAN GET THE STRESS DISTRIBUTION RESULT.

3.5

METHOD 1

  • TO VIEW THE BENDING MOMENT DIAGRAM FOR INDIVIDUAL MEMBERS YOU MAY GO TO THE BEAM > GRAPHS PAGE ON THE LEFT AND CLICK ON ANY MEMBER AND THE BMD,SFD AND AXIAL FORCE DIAGRAMS FOR THE MEMBER WOULD BE DISPLAYED ON THE RIGHT SIDE.

METHOD 2

  • AFTER COMPLETING ALL PROCESS GO TO THE POST PROCESSING MODE DROPDOWN THE LAYOUTS SELECT THE GRAPHS WE CAN GET THE VIEWS OF SFD & BMD.

 

AIM:-  CREATE A SIMPLY SUPPORTED BEAM WITH GIVEN SPECIFICATIONS

  1. A SIMPLY SUPPORTED BEAM WITH TWO POINT LOADS SYMMETRICALLY PLACED
  2. SPAN L = 20M
  3. LOAD P = 50KN EACH
  4. BOTH P LOCATED AT 5M FROM EACH SUPPORT

TOOLS USED:-  NODES , BEAM , GEOMETRY , PROPERTIES , SPECIFICATIONS , SUPPORTS , LOADINGS , ANALYSIS , POST PROCESSING MODE.

PROCEDURE:-

  • OPEN A NEW FILE OF STAAD.Pro SOFTWARE.
  • GIVE THE FILE NAME AND PUT UNITS AS METRIC THEN CREATE THE MODEL.

  • GO TO THE NODE GIVE THE 0 IN X AT FIRST NODE.

 

  • GIVE THE 20 IN X AT SECOND NODE.

  • USE THE ADD BEAM OPTION CREATE A BEAM WITH TWO NODES.

  • THE BEAM IS CREATED LIKE THIS.

 

  • GO TO THE PROPERTIES IN THAT WE HAVE A OPTION DEFINE GO TO THAT.

  • DAILOUGE BOX WILL SHOWN LIKE THIS SELECT THE RECTANGLE GIVE THE DIMENSIONS AND ADD IT.

  • AFTER THAT ASSIGN THE PROPERTIES TO THE BEAM COMES LIKE THIS.

  • GO TO THE MATERIAL GIVE THE MATERIAL AS CONCRETE ASSIGN IT.

  • IT COMES LIKE THIS.

  • THEN GO TO THE SUPPORTS THE DAILOUGE BOX WILL APPEARS LIKE THIS.

  • IN THAT A OPTION IS THERE CALLED CREATE WHEN CLICKING THAT THE DAILOUGE BOX WILL APPEARS LIKE THIS.

  • ASSIG THE SUPPORT TO THE BEAM.

  • GO TO THE LOADINGS THE DAILOUGE BOX WILL APPEARS LIKE THIS.

 

  • IN THAT GO TO THE LOAD CASES DETAILS AND CLIKCK THE ADD OPTION THE DAILOUGE BOX WILL APPERAS LIKE THIS.

  • THEN ADD A DEAD LOAD .

  • SELECT THE DEAD LOAD AND ADD THE SELWEIGHT AND GO TO MEBER LOAD AND ADD THE UNIFORM LOAD OF 50 KN

  • GO TO LOAD & DEFINATION THERE WE CAN SELECT LOADS AND ASSIGN THAT.

  • BEFORE THAT WE CAN ADD TWO MORE NODES FOR THE POINT LOADS. FOR THAT SELECT THE INSERT NODE OPTION FROM THE GEOMETRY PANEL THAT COMES LIKE THIS.

 

  • IN THAT WE CAN GIVE THE DISTANCE 5M AND 15M AND ADD NEW POINT CLICK OK. THE NODES WILL CREATED THEN ADD UNIFORM LOAD TO THE BOTH NODES. AGAIN GIVE THE SELFWEIGHT  TO THE BEAM.

  • GO TO THE ANALYSIS TAB SELECT THE ANALYSIS COMMANDS THAT COMES LIKE THIS.

  • THERE WE CAN ADD PERFORM ANALYSIS.THAT ADDED LIKE THIS.

 

  • THEN RUN ANALYSIS BY USING THE RUN ANAYSIS COMMAND.

  • AFTER COMPLETING THAT IF ANY ERRORS RESOLVE THAT AND GO TO THE POST PROCESSING MODE BY SELECT THAT AND CLICKING THE DONE OPTION.

  • THAT COMES LIKE THIS CLICK APPLY.

  • THAT APPEARS LIKE THIS.

 

  • USING RESULT RIBBON WE CAN SEE THE SFD &BMD.

  • BY USING LAYOUT OPTION SELECT THE GRAPHS THE GRAPHS WILL APPEARS RIGHT SIDDE.

 

RESULT:-

 THE SIMPLY SUPPORTED BEAM IS SHOWED.

AIM:- CREATE A FIXED BEAM WITH GIVEN SPECIFICATIONS

a.SPAN L = 16M

b.UNIFORMLY DISTRIBUTED LOAD W = 9KN/M

TOOLS USED:-  NODES , BEAM , GEOMETRY , PROPERTIES , SPECIFICATIONS , SUPPORTS , LOADINGS , ANALYSIS , POST PROCESSING MODE.

PROCEDURE:-

  • OPEN A NEW FILE OF STAAD.Pro SOFTWARE.
  • GIVE THE FILE NAME AND PUT UNITS AS METRIC THEN CREATE THE MODEL.

  • GO TO THE NODE BX GIVE THE 0 IN X AT FIRST NODE.

  • GIVE THE 16 IN X AT SECOND NODE.

  • USE THE ADD BEAM OPTION CREATE A BEAM WITH TWO NODES.

  • GO TO THE PROPERTIES IN THAT WE HAVE A OPTION DEFINE GO TO THAT.

  • DAILOUGE BOX WILL SHOWN LIKE THIS SELECT THE RECTANGLE GIVE

  • AFTER THAT ASSIGN THE PROPERTIES TO THE BEAM COMES LIKE THIS.

  • GO TO THE MATERIAL GIVE THE MATERIAL AS CONCRETE ASSIGN IT.

  • GO TO THE SUPPORTS AND ADD FIXED SUPPORT. ASSIGN IT TO BEAM.

 

  • GO TO LOADING ADD A DEAD LOAD. IN THAT ADD UNIFORM DISTRIBUTED LOAD OF 9 KN. ASSIGN IT TO BEAM.

 

 

 

  • THEN GO TO THE ANALYSIS AND SELECT THE ANALYSIS COMMAND ADD THE PERFORM ANALYSIS THEN RUN ANALYSIS.

 

 

  • IF ANY ERRORS OR WARNINGS RESOLVE IT THEN GO TO THE POST PROCESSING.

  • THERE WE CAN GET SFD AND BMD.

RESULTS:- FIXED BEAM IS SHOWED.
